Utah Fly Fishing Guides

Fly Fishing Near Park City Utah

Getting out to fly fish this time of year can be cold.  Yesterday it wasn’t to bad, it snowed on us a little but it just added to the great fly fishing atmosphere.  Scott and Gabe rocked it yesterday, landing tons of fish near Park City, Utah.  Scott said he had been out a couple times before and Gabe said it was his first time.

They both did great and caught a lot of fish.  They fished the Weber River and the Provo River and caught fish at both locations.  My favorite part of the day was when they both caught hooked up and caught a “double.”

Great fishing trip…FISH ON!

Fly Fishing Utah Guide

If your looking for a Utah fly fishing guide adventure, now is the time!  I want you to know that the spawn is now in full swing.  These next 3 weeks (the rest of November) will be an amazing opportunity to catch fish.

This past week I had the opportunity to take out Mike, a client from Indiana.  Together we had a blast.  Within the first 15 minutes he had already landed a very nice 16 or 17 inch brown on a provo river egg patern.  Then within the four hour time period we had stopped counting and we guessed he caught over a dozen fish after a half day of fishing…all real nice fish.

Now is the time.  Come join us to fish Utah fly fishing rivers.

Thanks for a great trip Mike.  See you again soon!

Fly Fishing In Utah

I have been out on the water on full day guiding trips in Utah for the past three day. The fishing has been good, and I have seen the fish starting to breech, getting ready for the spawn.

I came home from guiding today and had an e-mail which said:

What time of year do you provide flyfishing services?

I really liked this question, and I’ll answer it for you reading this as well.  Most people think that the winter time is not a good time to fish.  On the contrary, it’s an excillent time to get out fly fishing.  The brown trout start to spawn in Novemeber and their are fewer crowds.  This means more and bigger fish!

So to answer the question, we guide year around,  the real question is:  “What time of year do you want to be guided?”  Note that the above picture was taken November 2009 during the spawn on the Provo River.  (fyi – we provide all the gear necessary:  warm gloves, fly fishing jackets, hats etc…)

Fish On!

Park City Fly Fishing

Robbyn and I had a great Park City fly fishing trip today, started at 7:15 am, and absolutely loved it!  It was great getting to meet such a happy, thankful women…Robbyn, what a sweetheart.  She wanted to go out fly fishing with or without her husband, he decided to opt out, I’m sure he wished he came now after hearing the stories.  Talk about a serious fly fisher WOMAN!  Her dad would be proud.

Robbyn, thanks again for fly fishing with Utah Pro Fly Fishing.  Look forward to having you come back to Park City some day.  Go Phillies!

FISH ON

Park City Fly Fishing

Fly Fishing is good year around thing to do in Park City.  Although the fishing stays consistently good throughout the year (fish are always eating), one thing does change…the types of flies to use.  Our other website trout fishing Utah, is a good place to check out if you will be in Park City Fly Fishing and want to know what flies to use.  One thing that has changed is that it’s midge season…small ones, sizes 20, 22 & 24 like the picture above.  Hopefully you’ll catch some big ones when you go out on your own or with us.

If you would like to book a Park City Fly Fishing Trip today contact us via e-mail or phone us at 801.376.0626 and ask for Justin, we promise to take good care of you!

Park City Fly Fishing Guides

Talk about a fun Utah fly fishing trip!  It was a pleasure to get to go out fishing with someone who has met a man who I sincerely look up to and who I believe was a true fisher – of men, Og Mandino.  Alan and Cindy Goldsberry, who are also  inventors of the Flat Pad, which is a android version of the ipad, are not only great entrepreneurs but also excellent fly fishers.  We fished on the middle provo river on a half day fly fishing trip and had a great time catching fish and telling stories.

I know they had a ton of fun by looking at these pictures of them standing in the fly fishing river with their trout.

What you can’t tell from these photos is that these bright, fun, entrepreneurs  helped me see the world through clearer lenses, thanks!  I was grateful for this day on the water with my new friends, Alan and Cindy, who opened my eyes to a new level of awareness.  Thanks!

Utah Pro Fly Fishing

Utah Pro Fly Fishing guided Rick and his crew on a half day fly fishing trip on the majestic Provo River rocky mountain area.

It was another great day on the water, fishing has been good, PMD’s are hatching and the fishing has been great.  It is fun to have Rick out time and again, we have a great relationship and he knows I will always be a Professional Fly Fishing Guide Service in Utah available at his request and we keep doing our part to bring him and his great crew back by delivering quality experiences.

The video and the fly fishing pictures below says it all:

Nice Fish Rick!  This rainbow was gigantic…the girth was awesome!

Nice picture Mike,It’s always fun to have this captured on film too!

Nice Fish Terry!

All of the fish caught above took a long time to bring in.  It was very rewarding for me to take out this fly fishing tour and see such dramatic improvements in being able to land big fish so quickly.  I guess all it took was a couple “big ones that got away” to put the “better figure this out fast” learning mode in.

Thanks again for choosing Utah Pro Fly Fishing guys!

Guided Utah Fly Fishing Trips

Although the picture above is one I pulled off the internet, I have been guiding Utah’s Middle Provo on fly fishing trips.  It has been a blast and a lot of people are really getting into them.  While I went out with some friends to scope the waters for some trips I have later this week I found some secret stashes of Green Drake Action that I will reserve only for YOU. Be our guest here at Utah Pro Fly Fishing and come enjoy a Guided Utah Fly Fishing Trips!

Fly Fishing Out Of Deer Valley

One of my clients, Rick, and five of his friends came to Utah to get together at his house in Deer Valley.  Which is near Park City, Utah.  We split up the group with me Rick and his friend Ken.  Gilbert (another one of our great Utah Fly Fishing Guides).

The fishing was great.  It was Rick’s first time fly fishing not only in Utah but ever.  He was pretty excited after the day was over and he landed eight fish and had two more get off.  That’s a successful fly fishing trip not only for a beginner but for an expert as well.

Ken had an excellent time catching fish too.  He caught five, one of which was a huge 18 incher (see picture below)
