Who is a good fly fishing guide in Park City, Utah?
I know, I know. You think this article would just be about Utah Pro Fly Fishing guides, but that’s not what we want, we just want comments here. If you have recently been out on a trip with us or any Park City Fly Fishing company, leave a comment and lets hear about it. Tell us what makes a good guide and a good guide company so we can improve too!

Special thanks to Gary, John & Kevin for having us host them on a previous edition of “Hooked On Utah,” It was our first time being on T.V. and it was a blast. Way nice guys, lots of energy, and of course it was great to get our name out. Thanks guys! We look forward to doing a future Utah fly fishing show with them again soon, and hopefully with YOU even sooner.
Utah Pro Fly Fishing Thanks YOU!
I spent all of last night going through last years photo’s and videos picking out the best ones for my new website. What good memories I have with all of my past clients. I’d like to thank all my clients for a successful past year of fishing, and let you know that being a Utah Fly Fishing Guide is only fun because of YOU.

Fly Fishing In Utah Review

While vacationing in Utah, fishing with Utah Pro Fly Fishing’s Justin Harding was by far our favorite experience. Justin provided all the rods, flies, boots and waders needed to get us going, and within the hour we were standing in a serene, isolated spot on the Provo River catching fish. Neither my husband nor I had any fly fishing experience and would have been overly excited by even one small catch, but Justin’s knowledge, patience, and amazing ability to teach and guide led to much more.
Between the two of us, we caught twelve fish in just a few hours. When the fish weren’t biting, Justin was switching spots and changing flies, a learning experience in itself. He overturned rocks and showed us the insects the fish were eating that day in that location and how the flies we were using were almost exact replicas. Justin provided the methods behind the madness so that changing flies, adjusting technique, and moving locations made sense.
As the morning went, Justin made suggestions on how to cast, mend and set with greater skill, and steadily we caught larger fish. His enthusiasm for fishing and nature as a whole is infectious, his knowledge about the river, its fish and other wildlife seems to have immeasurable depth, and his ability to teach makes learning to fly fish a relaxing, peaceful, almost effortless experience. Our only regret is that we didn’t have more time. Don’t even consider booking just half a day, it’s not near enough. On our next visit to Utah, we’ll book two.

Thanks Kyle and Natalie for letting us be your Utah Fly Fishing Guide!
Utah Professional Fly Fishing Guides
Today was a wonderful day to be out fly fishing in Utah. I had a client come out today for his third day in a row with his dad to fly fish utah and what they found was not only some great fishing, but some time to relax on the water, and a great adventure. It’s always a pleasure to get to take out clients who are naturally have the touch, and Brian had it. Below is a video of Brian and his Dad with one of his many fish.
On their last day here (today), After spotting a huge brown trout we stuck with it and fished the hole for about 20 min. After patiently waiting for a “hit” we finally thought of a new plan. Shorten the indicator and put on less wait…BAM! FISH ON! It took us a good 5 minutes of walking with the fish to land this one. All I have to say is good job Brian, and the fish was worth the swim!
Fly Fishing With Nick
I got a call last week from a father who has a son in Logan Utah going to Utah State College on a scholarship for engineering. He is here in Utah for the summer going to school and his dad wanted to pay for him to go on a Utah Fly Fishing Trip for his birthday. We had a blast!
It was Nick’s first time fly fishing and I took him out to some private water and guided him in Logan, Utah at Paradise Ranch. It’s a beautiful place, very peaceful and calm. I could tell we both enjoyed it, I mean come on, who wouldn’t enjoy catching lots of BIG fish, seeing beautiful wildlife and having a warm day and a good friend.
Happy birthday Nick, I’m glad I got to celebrate it with you. I hope when your dad comes out I get to share the experience with both of you next time. Oh yeah, and good luck with fly fishing, I’m sure you’ll pick it up quick, call or e-mail me with fly fishing questions.
Guided Rainy And Ellen from Rainy’s Flies
(Founders of Rainy’s Flies, Rainy’s pic is of one of the fish we caught that day!)
In the summer of 2008 I was asked by Rainy and Ellen, the Founders of Rainy’s Flies, to take them fly fishing on the Provo River, as you can see, we had a ton of fun and it was a successful day!
It was good to get to know them and I have had a lot more fun with them since. I am working on designing a fly that I hope gets tied commercially by them in the future. It was one that I tie that fishes really good and like usual, did really good the day we went.
