(Nice 18 Inch Brown Trout On The Middle Provo!)
Had a great adventure taking Jeremy out fishing yesterday. He lives in Park City, Utah and has done lot’s of other fishing but has never tried fly fishing until yesterday. Right as we got to our secret fishing spot, I threw is line in the water and no joke, he had a fish on instantly. He pulled it up and out of the water and it broke the line. I hadn’t even yet explained to him any technique…sorry to break it to ya Jeremy but it was all luck and no skill.
But then after giving instructions on how to fly fish it was only 5 min into it and he caught a nice 15 inch Brown Trout(picture below). About 10 min later he then caught the nice 18 inch Brown Trout shown above. Good work Jeremy, nice fishin’!
Provo River Egg Patern – Utah Fly Fishing

This provo river egg pattern is great to use this time of year in a size #18. Try lots of colors, we did good on pink. When I took Mike out last week we caught a lot on this pattern and a zebra midges too, size #18-22 (over a dozen). Here at Utah Pro Fly Fishing, we love getting to see big smiles with equally big fish in the picture. After today’s trip we landed both! Above is Jennifer, one of six clients who came out fishing with us. They were such a fun group to have out fishing, all of them picked up fly fishing very quick and were very good at using the instructions we provided. We had a great time fishing the Lower Provo while fish were mainly taking Green Machines and PMD Emergers.
